Risk & controls

Addressing the risks of

responsible
AI

Regulators, colleges, and professional bodies have named specific risks with AI scribes. Here is how Bloom is designed to support your clinical practice around each one.

01

What about hallucination?

The risk that AI generates content that wasn't actually said.

Every AI-generated sentence carries a clickable citation back to the source transcript segment and the exact audio timestamp. When you want to check a detail, the evidence is one click away - play the audio from that moment and confirm.

02

What if something from the consultation gets missed?

The risk of omission - details that didn't make it into the note.

The full audio and transcript sit alongside every note, so you can go back and check whenever you need to. Nothing from the consultation is lost - if a detail is missing from the note, the source is right there.

03

How do I stay in control of what gets signed off?

Keeping clinical oversight of AI-generated content.

Every note waits for your sign-off before it's final. Citations make review fast, and field-level audit logs capture what changed and when - so your oversight is supported, and if you ever need to show your working, the trail is there.

04

What about patient consent for ambient recording?

Fitting ambient AI into the consent conversation you already have.

Bloom works with the consent process you already run - we're not here to replace it. If a patient prefers not to be recorded, dictation mode is there as a fallback with no change to your workflow. A patient information flyer is on the way to make the conversation easier to have in the room.

05

Where does our data go? Is it used to train AI?

Data sovereignty and how your patient information is used.

Your patient data stays in Australia - stored and processed in AWS Australian region(s). Clinical audio and transcripts don't leave the country, and your data is never used to train or fine-tune AI models.

06

Does Bloom make clinical decisions?

Keeping the line between documentation and clinical judgement clear.

No. Bloom is a documentation tool - it captures and structures the record of what happened in the room. It doesn't suggest diagnoses, flag decisions, or offer treatment advice. Your clinical judgement stays yours; Bloom just takes the paperwork off your plate.
