If your doctor uses Bloom, here's what that means for you
Bloom is a secure clinical documentation tool that helps your healthcare provider focus more on you and less on paperwork.
How Bloom supports your appointment
Bloom helps your doctor capture the details of your consultation, so they can focus on you - not on a keyboard.
Your consultation
With your consent, Bloom listens during your appointment. Nothing is captured without your permission.
A transcript is created
Bloom produces an accurate written record of the conversation - what you said, what your doctor said, and what was discussed.
A draft note is prepared, with evidence
Bloom drafts a clinical note for your doctor. Every sentence in the draft links back to the exact moment in the conversation where it came from - so your doctor can check anything against what was actually said.
Your doctor reviews and signs
Nothing is final until your doctor has reviewed and approved the note. Bloom supports documentation - it does not replace your clinician's professional judgement, and it does not make diagnoses or treatment decisions.
Your information is protected
Your information is handled in accordance with Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Your data is stored securely in Australia using healthcare-grade systems.
Information is used only to support your care and clinical documentation.
Not used for advertising or marketing.
Not used to train AI models.
It is always your choice
You can say "no" at any time, or withdraw your consent later. Opting out will not affect your relationship with your clinician or the care you receive.
Questions patients often ask
Is my consultation being recorded?
Only if you have given your consent. With your permission, Bloom captures the audio of your consultation so it can help your doctor prepare accurate notes. Your practice will explain this to you before the appointment and give you the chance to opt out.
What happens to the recording after my appointment?
The audio and transcript are kept securely alongside your clinical record so your doctor can review them if needed. They are stored in Australia under Australian privacy laws and are never used for marketing or to train AI models. Your practice manages how long records are retained - if you have questions about this, please ask them directly.
How do I know the notes are accurate?
Every sentence in the draft note links back to the exact moment in the conversation where it came from. Your doctor can click any line and hear the original audio to check it against what was actually said. Nothing is finalised until your doctor has reviewed and approved the note.
Does Bloom make decisions about my care?
No. Bloom is a documentation tool. It helps your doctor write notes from your consultation. It does not make diagnoses, suggest treatments, or replace your doctor's professional judgement. Every clinical decision is made by your doctor.
Is my information used to train AI?
No. Your consultation audio, transcripts, and notes are never used to train or improve AI models. Your information is used only to support your care.
What if I change my mind during the appointment?
You can ask your doctor to stop at any time. You can also withdraw your consent after the appointment. Opting out will not affect the care you receive.
